“ I have come to this brasserie many times and since I visit Paris many times per year (spend about 25% of my time in Paris) I would rate this as one of my favorite places to relax, especially at breakfast and apero. Some of the negative comments are obviously from tourists who do not understand or appreciate the French bistro culture regarding slow service (it isn't really slow-only that Paris servers do not harass patrons but instead allow you to eat in peace--to do otherwise would be considered rude in Paris). I find it to be primarily full of locals and have met many locals while dining there. Regarding language issues, as a bilingual (French/English) speaker I wonder why so many tourists expect local establishments to speak English for them. Do people where they come from speak French for visitors? My advice--learn a little bit of French and you will be greeted and accepted as a friend in Paris. Regarding food and service, this restaurant is classy/informal geared toward locals with a real neighborhood feel. Food is very good and service is good, appropriate, and polite. As a dual American & French resident I appreciate the true Parisian feel of this local establishment. Great place to sit, eat, and drink amongst locals in very relaxed (I.e, Paris) atmosphere. Also a great place to meet your tablemates and get to know locals and the real Paris vibe as opposed to the tourist vibe of the monuments areas. ”
